Three people, including an oil tanker driver, were arrested today after 605 cartons of illicit liquor worth nearly Rs 30 lakh was found inside the tanker here, police said.
A drive against the illicit liquor mafia is being conducted in the district.
Acting on a tip-off, the oil tanker was intercepted on the Bikaner-Jaisalmer national highway. A total of 605 cartons of liquor were found stashed inside it, Naal police station SHO Dharam Punia said.
The arrested were identified as Birdaram Bheel, Ramesh Bheel and Nalin Bishnoi, he said, adding that the accused revealed that they had loaded the tanker in Ambala and had to deliver the consignment in Gujarat.
A case was registered against them under sections of the Rajasthan Excise Act, the SHO said.
