Snowfall, rains in higher reaches of HP bring down day temperatures

Higher reaches of Himachal Pradesh received fresh snowfall while mid and lower hills witnessed intermittent rains leading to drop in day temperatures by four to six degrees.

The state capital and its surrounding areas witnessed thunderstorm and intermittent rains but snow eluded the city.

Rohtang Pass received 15 cm of snow while Mari, Koti, Solang and Palchang recorded 10 cm, 9 cm, 8 cm and 6 cm of snowfall respectively. The Churdhar ranges recorded 5 cm of snowfall.

Manali received 30 mm of rains, followed by Dalhousie and Dharamsala 15 mm and 13.5 mm respectively, Bhuntar 13 mm, Bajaura 10 mm, Dharamsala and Chail 9 mm each, and Bharmaur 8 mm of rainfall.
 

Una recorded a high of 22.6 degrees Celsius, against 28.8 degrees Celsius yesterday, followed by Nahan 22 degrees Celsius, Palampur 18.7 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 18 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 17.6 degrees Celsius, Solan 16 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 15.2 degrees Celsius and Shimla 11.9 degrees Celsius.

Minimum temperatures dropped marginally and Keylong, Kalpa, and Manali recorded a low of minus 2.5 degrees Celsius, 3.4 degrees Celsius and 5.4 degrees Celsius.

The weatherman has predicted rains or snow in mid and higher hills tomorrow.
