Customs officials today destroyed 67.709 kg of heroin worth more than Rs 100 crore and 39.665 kg of marijuana lying in the department's offices after seizure in Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Sri Ganganagar.
According to the officials, the price of 67.709 kg of heroin was more than Rs 100 crore. The price of 39.665 kg of marijuana (Ganja) was estimated to be Rs two lakh.
A drug disposal committee headed by joint commissioner of Customs commissionerate Jaipur supervised the safe disposal of the narcotic drugs which was burnt in an incinerator on the Agra highway here.
Members of the committee constituted by the Customs commissioner and other officials of the department were present during the disposal.
