70 inmates of correctional home on hunger strike, 3 fall ill

About 70 inmates of the correctional home here are on hunger strike since Thursday demanding quick proceedings in court and three of them have fallen ill.

Nadia district magistrate Sumit Gupta today said the sick inmates have been hospitalised and were stable now.

Efforts are on to make the inmates withdraw the hunger strike, he said.
