70 kg of sea cucumber seized

Forest officials on routine duty at Devipattinam spotted a group of persons standing beside a motorcycle. They took to their heels on seeing them, leaving the sea cucumber and the motorcyle.

The sea cucumber was meant to be smuggled to Sri Lanka, officials, who also seized the two-wheeler, said.

On April 12, 150 kg of sea cucumber was seized from a house here.
