As many as 70 people fell ill after drinking contaminated water supplied to their houses by the local body of Talala village here, officials said.
Residents of Talala village yesterday suffered from diarrhoea and complained of vomiting after drinking the water, supplied through a pipeline, that was found contaminated, a local health officer said.
The affected people are being treated in local dispensaries and health centres, officials said, adding that no one is serious.
District health officials rushed to the village and necessary arrangements were made for potable drinking water there.
