At least eight people were killed and ten others injured today in a mutliple-vehicle collision in east China's Zhejiang Province.
At around 9.30 am, a trailer loaded with paint crashed into a motorcycle, an electric bicycle and a truck along the province's inter-city road near the Lianmeng village, the county government was quoted as saying by Xinhua news agency.
Five people died on the spot and other three died in hospital. The driver and co-driver of the trailer were both killed, said the county government.
Of the 10 injured people sent to local hospitals, one is stated to be in a critical condition with serious lung injuries and eight others in non-life-threatening conditions. One of them has already been discharged, the report said.
The cause of the accident is being investigated, it said.
