8 persons killed in road accident in Assam

Eight persons, including a woman and a child, were killed and another man was seriously injured in a road accident in Kamrup district of Assam, police said today.

The car in which seven persons were travelling from Goalpara to Guwahati late last night collided head-on with a mini truck at Bamunigaon, killing the passengers and the truck driver on the spot, a police official said.

The drivers of both the vehicles were among the deceased, they said.

The injured was admitted to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital, he said.
