8-year-old girl dies en route Vaishno Devi shrine

An 8-year-old girl today died after being hit by a piece of rock, which rolled down Trikuta hills en-route the cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi in Katra belt of Reasi district, police said.

Vidushi, who was on a pilgrimage to the cave shrine in Trikuta hills along with her family, was hit by a piece of rock, which slided from the hill top due to landslides near Sanjichat today, they said.

She died due to a head injury, police said, adding her body has been handed over to her father after completion of legal formalities.
