Narcotics Control Bureau today seized 9.9 kg of ganja from a passenger at the airport here.
NCB sleuths, acting on a tip-off, thoroughly checked the luggage of a passenger S Selvam hailing from Ramanathapuram district in Tamil Nadu and seized the contraband worth Rs five lakh, Narcotics Control Bureau, Zonal Director, Prem Anand Sinha said.
"The drug was hidden inside a trolley bag and was being smuggled using a passenger flight bound for Port Blair from Chennai", he said in a release.

Enquiries are being conducted with the arrested person to trace the drug trafficking network behind it, he said.
Recently, NCB officials seized about 170 kg of ganja, valued at Rs 50 lakh, that was being smuggled from Andhra Pradesh to Tamil Nadu and three persons were arrested in this connection.
