92-year-old murder convict dies days before release

Prahalad Roy fell ill in his prison cell and was taken to the sadar hospital where he died due to old age problems, prison doctor Alok Kumar said.

He was among the aged prisoners whose names were finalised for release on Republic Day this year, jail sources said.

A native of Chhouradano village, Roy was a patient of asthma and old-age related problems, Kumar said.
