A convenor needed for better coordination within NDA:Shiv Sena

The Shiv Sena has demanded that a convenor be appointed for the ruling coalition NDA for better coordination among its constituents, saying such a post existed during former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's tenure.
"We have conveyed this to the Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) that a convenor is required for better coordination within the NDA. Though he did not say anything on this, he appeared receptive to the idea.
"The convenor can brief NDA constituents after major policy decisions and it can be easier for us to take a stand and react," Shiv Sena MP Anandrao Adsul said.

"The post (of convenor) existed during (former Prime Minister) Atalji's time. Geroge (Fernandes) was a good conevnor and so was Sharad Yadav," Adsul added.
The NDA, at present, does not have a convenor. The post has remained vacant after Sharad Yadav's JD(U) walked out of the NDA.
