An accountant of Urban Improvement Trust here and a middleman were today arrested by sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 60,000.
The accountant, Lal Chand Soni, had demanded Rs 60,000 as bribe from a contractor Vinod Kumar to clear his pending bills amounting to Rs 18 lakh, SP Mamta Bishnoi said.
Soni had asked the contractor to hand over the bribe amount to a middleman named Ashik at Ganganagar road, she said.

"Following a complaint by Kumar, the ACB team laid a trap and arrested the middleman while accepting the bribe. On his information, the accountant was caught from his office," she said.
A case has been registered and investigation is underway, the SP said.
