Accused falls out of police vehicle, dies

A man, apprehended for gambling, died after allegedly falling down from a police vehicle here.

He was identified as Odugu Ramudu (39), a native of Guraladibba village of Machilipatnam mandal.

Ramudu and his brother were accused of playing cards, gambling and creating nuisance in the village after getting drunk.

While being taken to police station, Ramudu, who was on the backseat, accidentally fell out and suffered a head injury, said DSP Surya Sravankumar.

The body has been sent for autopsy.
