Acid supplier arrested in Punjab

A shopkeeper has been arrested for allegedly supplying acid to two youths, who were accused of throwing it on a girl at Kahnuwan town on March 5.

District police chief Gurpreet Singh Toor today said shopkeeper Surinder Kumar, a resident of Ajnala town in Amritsar district, has been arrested for supplying acid to the accused duo.

Manpreet Singh alias Manna and his friend Ajit, both resident of Paiowali village under Ajnala police station in Amritsar, were arrested for throwing acid on a state-level netball girl player at Kahnuwan town in the district.
