AIIMS: Bandh hits life in Nagaon, Morigaon

Normal life has been paralysed in Central Assam's Nagaon and Morigaon districts today due to a 24-hour bandh called by several organisations protesting against the proposed establishment of AIIMS at Changsari near Guwahati.
All shops and business establishments were closed and vehicles remained off the roads, police said. Government offices were opened but attendance was thin.
The National Highway 37 was blocked by the protesters at Raha, Phulaguri and Kathiatoli. Hundreds of protesters were taken into preventive custody at Raha.
