Opposition AINRC MLA Ashok Anand today led a fast in his constituency demanding removal of an arrack shop on a busy road in the locality.
Representatives of different wings of AINRC and various residents welfare associations in Thattanchavady Block took part in the day-long fast.
Anand, who spoke on the occasion, said the shop had been a hindrance for flow of traffic and also for eruption of various issues frequently causing insecurity to the local residents.
He said that if the shop was not removed from the site the local residents and party men would go on an indefinite fast from next week.
