Akhilesh felicitates soccer team

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said his government has been consistently promoting sports as a result of which sportsmen from the state were winning laurels at national and international levels.

Akhilesh was addressing a felicitation function of the state's winning side in 13th Rajiv Gandhi Slum Soccer National Championship held in Nagpur last year.

He presented a cheque of Rs 1 lakh on behalf of the government and another of Rs 5 lakh from Tatva Foundation to each of the team members.

A football match between the national winners and CM-XI was organised.
