Aluminium falls by 0.1% on overseas cues

Speculators reduced their positions amid a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Aluminium futures fell 0.13% to Rs 111.65 per kg today as speculators reduced their positions amid a weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in March shed 15 paise, or 0.13%, to Rs 111.65 per kg with a business turnover of 141 lots.

Aluminium for delivery in April also shed 10 paise, or 0.09%, to trade at Rs 112.40 per kg in a turnover of 8 lots.

Weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange as the US dollar traded near 12-year high versus the euro, cut the appeal for commodities priced in the currency, said marketmen.

Also, subdued demand from consuming industries at domestic spot markets put pressure on aluminium prices at futures trade here.
