Anchor Brian Williams has taken a temporary leave from 'Nightly News, amid questions over false claims that he came under fire in Iraq during war.
He repeatedly told a story about being shot down in a helicopter in Iraq but veterans disputed his account. Williams blamed the 'fog of memory' for the lapse.
The 55-year-old anchor is facing an internal investigation at NBC over the issue, reported BBC.

"(Weekend anchor) Lester Holt has kindly agreed to sit in for me to allow us to adequately deal with this issue. Upon my return, I will continue my career-long effort to be worthy of the trust of those who place their trust in us," Williams added.
