Actor Anna Friel has been roped in to star in a drama about a transgender child, titled, "Butterfly".
The 41-year-old actor will play Vicky, the mother of Max, a child who opts to lead his life as a girl at home and decides he does not want to hide it, reported BBC.
It will be a three-part mini-series made by ITV.
Talking about the show, channel head of drama Polly Hill said, "'Butterfly' is a beautiful story about a young boy on the cusp of puberty who doesn't feel comfortable in his own body."
She added that it was a heartwarming and emotional script about "one boy's search to be recognised for who he really is".
