Armed Forces Flag Day observed in Nagaland

Marking the officers of (RSB) and ex-servicemen on Friday called on PB Acharya at the Raj Bhavan here.

Acharya, who is also the ex-officio of RSB, paid respect to the soldiers and veterans for their courage, honour, bravery and sacrifices.

He also urged the people to contribute to the Armed Forces fund for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families.

Director, Board Nagaland, honoured the with badge.

Neiphiu Rio, in his message, said the aim of the day is to honour the martyrs, veterans and brave soldiers who have been defending the country against external aggression and assisting in aid to civil authorities during natural calamities.

On this day, he said, citizens and volunteer organizations collect donation in exchange of token flags and throughout the country.

He said the fund so collected is meant for rehabilitation of war windows, disabled soldiers, ex-servicemen and their families.

Both the and CM also appealed to all citizens for generous contribution for the noble cause.
