Arms and ammunition dug out of mud-built road

A single-barrel gun and ammunitions were dug out of a mud-build road in a former Maoist stronghold in a jungle near Jhargram in West Midnapore district.
Acting on a tip-off, a CRPF team carried out a search operation in the jungles near Andharisole village and dug out one single-barrel gun, one challenger mine, a 3-kg landmine, five pencil batteries, 125 metre electric wire and one flash gun of a camera.
Andharisole was a Maoist stronghold until top Maoist leader Kishenji was killed in an encounter with security forces in a nearby forest of the district two years ago.
