The CID has busted an illegal firearms factory at Rabindra Nagar in South 24-Parganas district, operating from the home of a resident of the area, the police here said.
The CID after receiving a tip-off raided the house of Goutam Ray at Dakshin Bidhangarh in the Mahestola police station area last night and seized 38 semi-finished seven mm pistols and some arms making machinery.
Two accomplices of Ray, Md. Nazrul and Md. Sabir Ali, both from Munger district in Bihar, were also arrested.
In September, last year a similar arms factory was unearthed in the same Rabindra Nagar area, a prominent Muslim locality.
