Army holds blood donation camp on 1965 war anniversary

Armys's Crossed Swords Division today held a blood donation camp to mark the 50th anniversary of the 1965 war against Pakistan.

A defence spokesman said that the day also marked the raising day of an Artillery unit which took part in the battle of Charwa in the 1965 in the Sialkot sector.

"A total of 92 soldiers donated their blood during the event, this noble gesture further established Army's contribution towards well being of our great Nation" he said.

He said that the camp was organised with the aid of six doctors and technical Staff from Jammu Medical College who came in a fully-automated blood harnessing vehicle.
 

The Crossed Swords Division is based in Akhnoor.
