Assistant engineer held for accepting bribe

An assistant engineer of the Tribal Welfare department was arrested for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 7,500 from a government teacher, police said today.

Gorle Srinivas demanded the bribe from a government teacher for releasing payments in Arakuvalley area, a senior Anti-Corruption Bureau official said.

Following a complaint, a trap was laid and Srinivas was apprehended while accepting the bribe, he said.
