Assistant headmaster arrested on sexual harassment charge

A 44-year-old assistant headmaster of a government-aided school in Theni district was today arrested on the charge of sexually harassing girl students, police said.

Shanmugasundaram, who was suo-motu suspended yesterday by the education department, was arrested based on a complaint from affected students of the school in Andipatti last night, DSP Vijayabaskhar said.

He has been accused of misbehaving with girl students, indulging in obscene talk and sexually harassing them.
