ATM machine lifted

An ATM machine, which had not been

fixed properly, was stolen from Dwarka north area in southwest Delhi, even as the amount inside it is not known, police said today.

As per the police, the ATM machine of Andrha Bank in Antarkish Vihar market of Sector IV was installed outside the bank recently and was not fixed properly. It was stolen yesterday night.

The incident came to light today morning when customers came to withdraw money and found the ATM missing, said a senior police officer.

On receiving information, police reached the spot and began an enquiry. The CCTV camera was found to be dysfunctional and there was no guard to protect the machine.
 

Police informed the concerned bank officials who reached there and tried to work out the cash stolen. They told the police that the ATM was not fixed permanently.

A case has been registered in connection with the theft on a complaint by bank officials and further investigation is on.

Efforts are being made to identify the culprits by examining footage of other CCTV cameras in the vicinity, he said.
