Bajaj group firms donate Rs 10 cr for TN flood relief

Bajaj group of companies today announced a contribution of Rs 10 crore towards flood relief operations in Tamil Nadu.

"Bajaj Auto and Bajaj Finance have contributed an amount of Rs 5 crore each for the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund," the group said in a statement.

Bajaj Auto and Bajaj Finance Chairman Rahul Bajaj said, "We are joining the government's effort to help in relief operations in flood-ravaged Tamil Nadu and provide all support to the affected countrymen in the state."

NHPC's J&K power plant resumes operation * The state-run NHPC today said its 120-MW Sewa-II power station in Jammu and Kashmir, which had been completely shut down for annual maintenance of machines, has started generation.
 

"Sewa-II power station, which was under complete shutdown for annual maintenance of machines, has started generation at 1616 hours on December 18, 2015," the company said in a filing to BSE today.

The company had on December 8 informed the stock exchange that the Sewa-II power station has been completely shut down for about 20 days due to annual maintenance of machines.
Payworld applies for BBPS

* Electronic payments processing player Payworld today said it has applied to Reserve Bank of India to function as an authorised operating unit for Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS).

"Having established ourselves firming in the Pre-paid instrument space over the past few years, we intend to upgrade to the next level by participating in the electronic bill payment segment", its chief operating officer Praveen Dhabhai said.

The BBPS is designed to act as an integrated platform where consumers can pay multiple bills, including those of utilities, telecom operators etc.

TCS develops inventory mngmt platform for MMC

*Country's largest software exporter TCS has developed an inventory management platform for a city-based non profit organisation working for construction workers' children for over four decades.

The Comprehensive Inventory Management system is developed pro-bono for Mumbai Mobile Creches (MMC) that will help reduce manual paper work at sites, help aggregate data across centres and aid planning and monitoring, a TCS statement said.

"We are happy to leverage our technological capabilities to address issues faced by NGOs. We are confident that these comprehensive solution will enable and enhance their efficiency to serve the community better", its global corporate social responsibility head Joy Deshmukh said.

Microsoft to assist 20,000 SMEs in Surat with cloud solutions

*Microsoft today said 20,000 small businesses in the diamond hub of Surat have signed up for availing its cloud services.

"We see immense potential in South Gujarat in terms of technology adoption and it is encouraging to see prominent industry bodies such as Surat Diamond Association (SDA) understand the power of modern technology and encourage its adoption", Microsoft's director for business development Manohar Hotchandani told
Tata Power Solar commissions 5 MW plant

* Tata Power Solar today said that it has successfully commissioned a 4.8 MW solar power plant Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district.

"The company now meets its entire power requirement through renewable energy, making it one of the few business entities in India to do so," Tata Power Solar said in press release.

Spread across 22 acres of land at Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh state, this solar power plant was setup within three months, using Tata Power Solar's modules.

SAP Labs ranked as one of 10 best workplaces in Asia in 2016 * SAP Labs India today said it has been ranked number 10th in the Best Multinational Workplaces in Asia 2016 list announced by 'Great Place to Work'.

More than 900 companies participated in the study across nine Asian countries, according to a company statement.

The best workplaces in Asia list recognises organisations in the respective region dedicated to sustaining high-trust cultures for their employees.

The Asia region includes Australia, China, India, Japan, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates.

MOIL presents Rs 36 crore interim dividend to govt * State-run MOIL today presented the government an interim dividend cheque of Rs 36.07.

"The interim dividend cheque of Rs 36.07 crore was presented today to Narendra Singh Tomar, Steel & Mines Minister at New Delhi by G P Kundargi, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of MOIL Ltd," an official statement said.

MOIL Ltd has declared Rs 3 per share interim dividend for the year 2015-16.

Adani Transmission incorporates subsidiary * Adani Transmission today said that it has incorporate at subsidiary Adani Transmission (Rajasthan) Ltd (ATRL) for implementing Suratgarh to Bikaner power transmission line project.

The company has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary company, Adani Transmission (Rajasthan) Ltd On March 21, 2016, Adani Transmission said in a BSE filing.

According to statement, ARTL is incorporated for development of 400 kV double circuit Suratgarh to Bikaner transmission line project.

The 50,000 equity shares of the ARTL has be acquired for Rs five lakh at a price of Rs 10 per unit.
BookMyShow partners Uber to provide customers cab service

* Online ticket platform BookMyShow today said it has partnered with taxi-aggregator Uber to provide cab facility to its customers going to watch movie.

"We are delighted today to partner with Uber to offer an enhanced movie going experience to all our customers," BookMyShow VP- Business Intelligence and Marketing Marzdi Kalianiwala said.

Depending upon the time, the users will either get an option to 'Ride Now' or to set a reminder to book a Uber cab later.

"BookMyShow app will direct user to Uber app. Customer will need to make payment on Uber app," Kalianiwala said.
