Banned currency of Rs 2.60 lakh seized in separate cases

Telangana Police have arrested seven persons belonging to two different gangs and seized Rs 2.60 lakh of banned currency from them, a senior official said.

Rajanna Sircilla District Police Superintendent Vishwajith Kampati, said, Veerapaneni Rajesh (47), Kasula Pradeep (35) and Mangalpalli Krishna (43) of Hyderabad were arrested by the task force police and Rs 1 lakh banned currency was seized from them at Jillella cross roads under Tangallapalli police station limits.

In another incident, Addepalli Janardhan Rao (40), Kiran Izhar (47), Raavi Uma Shankar (54) of Hyderabad and Gudi Tejo Ravikumar (42) of Chittoor were arrested and Rs 1.60 lakh banned currency was seized from them besides a car and mobile phones at Gollapalli under Yellareddypet police limits.
 

The accused have been sent to judicial remand, the SP added.
