Base metal prices rose by upto
Rs 5 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today, tracking a firm trend overseas.
Traders said sentiment bolstered on the back of a firm trend overseas where base metal prices made robust
gains as the dollar softened, making metals cheaper for
holders of other currencies, while positive data from top
metals consumer China helped spur a rebound from losses in
the previous session.
Markets are awaiting the outcome of two-day US-China
trade talks in Beijing that end on Friday. A trade spat between
the two countries has roiled metals markets in recent months.
Globally, aluminium for delivery in three month rose
1.5 per cent to USD 2,303 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
In the national capital, aluminium ingots, sheet cutting, wire scrap and utensils scrap were up by Rs 2 each to Rs 160, Rs 156, Rs 156 and Rs 154 per kg respctively.
Copper mixed scrap and nickel plate (4x4) also went up by Rs 2 and Rs 5 to Rs 430 and Rs 844-849 per kg respectively.
Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported too enquired higher by Rs 2 each to Rs 130-136, Rs 131 and Rs 138 per kg respectively.

Lead ingot Rs 131, lead imported Rs 138, aluminium ingots Rs 160, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 156, aluminium wire scrap Rs 156 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 154.
