The Bihar government today dismissed three public servants from service, of whom two were facing corruption charges.
In a decision taken at the state cabinet meeting, Hridayanand Singh, an assistant engineer of Water Resources Department, was dismissed for being allegedly absent in an unauthorised manner from June 27, 1992.
Briefing about other dismissals, Principal Secretary (Cabinet Department) Brajesh Mehrotra said, "Sandhya Kumari, the then Child Development Project Officer of Bhitaha in West Champaran district has been dismissed from service on the charges of taking a bribe of Rs 17,000. She was caught by the Vigilance Department and was found guilty in the departmental proceedings."
Mehrotra added that Naresh Mandal, Assistant Director (Animal Development), who was posted at Muzaffarpur, has also been dismissed from service.
Mandal too was allegedly facing corruption charges but no details were given.
The cabinet also approved the setting up of two traffic police stations in Gaya district. One of them will be at the pilgrimage town of Bodh Gaya.
Altogether 279 posts of police personnel have also been created to man them.
In another decision, the state cabinet approved Rs 58.45 crore for providing Rs 20,000 to 29,995 government middle schools for Chief Minister educational tour scheme.
