A total of 130 BJP workers, including party's state General Secretary, Vanathi Srinivasan, were arrested today when they staged a demonstration seeking immediate removal of a TASMAC liquor outlet here.
The workers, including 30 women, raised slogans against the government and sought immediate closure of the shop at Chettiveedhi, located was near educational institutions and also a place of worship.
Srinivasan said the government was closing those liquor shops, which have lesser sales across the state. She wanted closure of outlets near educational institutions and places of worship.
