Bo's borther quits from top firm following scandal

China Everbright International, a Hong Kong-based company said that Vice Chairman, Bo Xiyong who is also known as Li Xueming had resigned to minimise any adverse impact on the company following the political controversy and investigations over Bo and his wife Gu Kailai.

Bo Xiyong is Bo Xilai's elder brother.

"The board would like to take this opportunity to clarify that recent reports by the media on Li's family background have no relationship with the normal business and operations of the company," Everbright said in the statement to the Hong Kong stock exchange.

The company focuses on alternative energy and waste management.

 

"Li has demonstrated dedication and diligence in serving the company during his tenure of directorship," it said.
