: The Superintendent of Borstal School in Pollachi near here was today transferred following bribery charges levelled against him.
Parameswaran was transferred to Singanallur open jail here, official sources said.
The decision comes after 38 inmates of the school (formerly Sub-Jail) observed a fast today, alleging that Parameswaran was demanding money from their relatives to show official favours.
Earlier in the day, advocates of Pollachi Bar Association also staged a demonstration against the official for reportedly demanding money to grant bails for inmates.
Parameswaran was not immediately available for his comments.
