Boy killed after cracker manufacturing unit caught fire

An 18-year old boy was killed when a cracker manufacturing unit caught fire after it was struck by lightning at Valankaimaan near here today, police said.

Police said the lightning struck the shed where the crackers were being made.

Ajith, who suffered serious injuries with the crackers bursting as the fire spread, died on the spot.

Fire service personnel doused the fire, police said.
