A 36-year-old brick kiln owner was shot dead today allegedly by two assailants in Tekua village under Bhaluani police station in the district, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Jitendra Yadav, they said.
The incident occurred when two motorcycle-borne assailants came posing as buyers and opened fire at Yadav and fled the scene, police said.
The body is with the police and efforts are on to nab the killers, they said.
Police said the murder appears to be an act of revenge.
