BSE asks CFCL to explain reasons for surge in trade volumes

Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) today asked Chambal Fertilisers and Chemicals (CFCL) to explain reasons for sharp increase in trade volumes of its shares.

"Significant increase in volume has been observed in CFCL," according to the query sent by BSE to the fertiliser company.

The stock exchange has written to the company in order to ensure that investors have latest relevant information about the company and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded.

Till filing of this copy, the response from the company CFCL was awaited, BSE said.

As many as 10,73,696 shares were traded today, while in the last three trading sessions the average volumes were 53,000 to 67,000 shares.
 

The share price of the company rose by 10.49 per cent to settle at Rs 78.45 a piece on the BSE today.
