Border Security Force personnel today seized two kgs of contraband suspected to be heroin in Sriganganagar sector of the Indo-Pak border.
The drug smugglers, however, managed to escape by taking advantage of darkness and wheat crops in the surrounding fields.
According to BSF officials, suspicious movement was observed by the troops near the fence after midnight yesterday.

"On observing the suspicious movement, the troops rushed to the point. Some footprints were seen leading to the border towards the border fence," said the official.
During a joint search by the BSF and the police, two packets (one kg each) wrapped in yellow adhesive tape were recovered 30 mtrs ahead of the fence on the Indian side.
The packets, weighing 1 kg each, were handed over to the local police.
