A private bus fell into a canal
at Madhopur near here tonight even though no casualty was reported, police said.
Pathankot SSP R K Bakshi said "all passengers are safe...There is no casualty."
He said the private bus carrying at least 46 passengers was on its way from Katra in Jammu and Kashmir to Gurgaon in Haryana.
The driver of the bus allegedly lost control and the bus plunged into the canal at 8.20 pm, he said.
Immediately police, para military personnel along with local people pulled out the passengers from the bus with the help of ropes, he said.
All passengers have been shifted to civil hospital here and were safe, he said.
The bus is still in canal but all passengers have been rescued, he said.
