:The forest department is contemplating placing one or two cages in Dhoddagajanure area near Thalawady in Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve to trap a leopard, which has been causing sleepless nights to the villagers.
Forest officials quoted the villagers as having told them that they had noticed the movement of a Leopard.A farmer had also reportedly noticed the feline killing his dog.
Dhoddagajanure is near Kannada cine star the late Dr Rajkumar's farmhouse, from where he was kidnapped by forest brigand Veerappan on July 30 2000.

On a complaint by the villagers, forest officials inspected the area two days back and discussed placing one or two cages in the area to trap the leopard.
They also decided to place automatic cameras in the area to watch the movement of the leopard and other wild animals.
Forest officials urged people not to panic over such movement of wild animals, as patrolling has been intensified and they would scare away the leopard by bursting cracker sand beating drums if they sighted it.
