Press Trust of India New Delhi
Cardamom prices rose 1 per cent to Rs 1,132.20 per kg in futures trade today as participants built up fresh positions amid pick up in demand.
Tight stocks position on fall in arrivals from growing regions supported the upside.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August contract was trading higher by Rs 11.20, or 1 per cent, to Rs 1,132.20 per kg in a business turnover of 19 lots.
The September contract of the spice traded higher by Rs 6.60, or 0.60 per cent, to Rs 1,105 per kg with trading volume of 14 lots.
