Cardamom prices rose by 1.03 per cent to Rs 735 per kg in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions, tracking a firm trend at spot market on rising demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in April moved up by Rs 7.50, or 1.03 per cent, to Rs 735 per kg, in a business turnover of 150 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in May traded higher by Rs 3, or 0.41 per cent, to Rs 740.50 per kg in five lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in cardamom prices at futures trade to rising demand in the spot market against restricted supplies from producing regions.
