Castorseed futures traded higher by Rs 22 to Rs 3,949 per quintal today as participants built-up fresh positions, tracking a firm trend at the spot on strong demand.
Marketmen said speculative positions created by traders supported by strong spot demand, mainly attributed rise in castorseed prices at futures trade.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castorseed delivery for second contract January month edged up by Rs 22, or 0.56 per cent to Rs 3,949 per quintal, in an open interest of 1,31,810 lots.
Also, castorseed for the most-active December month contract rose by Rs 20, or 0.52 per cent to Rs 3,867 per quintal, having an open interest of 1,42,390 lots.
