CBI arrests DDA official in Rs 1 lakh bribery case

CBI today arrested a DDA officer for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh from a contractor for clearing his bills.
CBI sources said Omvir Singh, a Delhi Development Authority (DDA) Section Officer posted at Shaikh Sarai, was arrested red-handed while accepting the bribe.
They said that Singh had allegedly demanded Rs 2 lakh for clearing the contractor's bill, but the deal was finalised at Rs 1 lakh.

Sources said that the contractor approached CBI with the complaint that the officer had demanded a bribe.
After getting the information, a CBI team laid a trap and Singh was arrested at his office in Shaikh Sarai while receiving the bribe.
