CBI has registered a case of cheating against the then Manager of Food Corporation of India for allegedly causing a loss of Rs 13.56 lakh in supply of vehicles.

CBI sources said that a case of criminal conspiracy and cheating has been registered against A K Baidya, then Manager (House Keeping), FCI, District Office, Sadarghat, Silchar, Assam and transport contractor Nitu Choudhury.

"It was alleged that then Manager (House Keeping) at FCI, District Office, Silchar, Cachar (Assam), during the period from February, 2015 to February, 2016 entered into criminal conspiracy with the Transport Contractor of Silchar and unknown others," CBI Spokesperson said here today.

"An alleged loss to the tune of Rs.13.56 lakh (approx) was caused to Food Corporation of India. Investigation of the case is in progress," she said.
