The Centre today said it would consider Odisha government's request of according in-principle approval for establishment of the National Investment and Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) at Kalinganagar in Jajpur district.
"The minister has made a request to set up NIMZ at Kalinga Nagar. I will check the papers and follow it up," said Union Minister of state (Independent Charge) for Industry and Commerce Nirmala Sitharaman.
Earlier, Odisha Industries Minister Devi Prasad Mishra had urged the the Union minister to consider the proposal of setting up NIMZ in the state.

The state-owned Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (IDCO) which possessed 5,811 hectares of land at Kalinganagar has engaged a consultant for preparing a techno-economic feasibility report (TEFR) and master plan for the NIMZ.
