CGWB to conduct essay competition on water conservation

The Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) will conduct a national essay competition, aiming to make the youth aware of the need for conservation and prevention of water pollution.

The topic for the competition, open to all in the age group of up to 18-years, will be 'Ground Water - Life line of the Nation.'

The competition aims to make the youth aware of the need for conservation and prevention of pollution of water and also to involve their parents and the society in this noble cause, Union Water Resources Ministry said in a statement.

According to the statement, each essay should not exceed 1500 words. The competition will be held across the country in two phases. Last date of receipt of the entries is February 20.
 

The phase I competition date will be decided later. The phase II competition is proposed to be held on March 10. The applicants can visit www.Cgwb.Gov.In for more details, a ministry official said.

The winners will be awarded 60 cash prizes ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000.
