Chana up 0.3% as demand picks up

Chana prices were trading higher by 0.29% to Rs 4,825 per quintal in futures trade today as participants created fresh positions, supported by pick up in demand in the spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in January rose by Rs 14, or 0.29% to Rs 4,825 per quintal with an open interest of 1,310 lots.
On similar lines, the commodity for delivery in far-month April edged up by Re 1, or 0.02% to Rs 4,280 per quintal in 26,770 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions built up by traders amid pick up in demand in the spot market led to the rise in chana prices at futures trade.
