A charred body of a woman aged around 20, was found from a valley at Sakhare village near here, police said today.
The woman was found abandoned in a burnt state last evening on Charoti-Wangaon road, Arun Fegde, API Wangaon police station said.
After receiving information from locals, police rushed to the spot, taking charge of the remnants and sent it for examination, he said.
The victim is yet to be identified as she was charred beyond recognition, Fegde said, adding, she was dumped at an isolated place near the parapet wall of the valley.
An offence under section 302 and 201 of the IPC has been registered against unidentified persons and further investigations are underway, he said.
